From the moment they came together, Sebastian Voltz and Gilles Grethen felt an unmistakable musical connection. Their approaches to the piano and guitar seemed to complement each other seamlessly, blending their rich timbres in a captivating way. A notoriously challenging combination, piano and guitar proved to be the perfect partnership in the pair’s dynamic interplay. As they weave their rhythms together, they paint a vibrant picture, skillfully trading roles, passing melodies back and forth, and turning the similarities between their instruments into a unique strength. Their compositions are a masterful blend of delicate subtlety and rich texture, with moments of intense power and emotion. By embracing spontaneity, Sebastian Voltz and Gilles Grethen deliver lively and free-flowing melodic improvisations that showcase their virtuosic abilities, as well as their classical training and chamber music influences.
