Thompson Springs is a five-piece blues and rock band originating from Chicago, renowned for their distinctive, hazy songwriting that PBS has described as “western rock”. Their musical style is characterised by a nostalgic yet adventurous sound, blending classic blues and rock influences with a touch of the mysterious and unknown. Driven by a love of storytelling and exploration, the band has embarked on an unusual journey, performing across Europe, New Zealand, and throughout the United States. Detroit Public Radio (WDET) has noted that their sound draws inspiration from legendary songwriters such as Tom Petty, while also incorporating elements from contemporary indie artists like Kurt Vile. In 2020, Thompson Springs collaborated with Wilco’s Pat Sansone to produce their debut album, Undertones, released on Dropped Beauty Recordings.
